Last Saturday we were in Leominster’s Grange, a gorgeous historic building close to the town centre. We’re pleased to say that our Sat Nav negotiated the narrow streets to perfection — unlike friend Malcolm Havard’s, which sent him down a cul de sac.
Yesterday — Sunday 26 April — we made our way down the M6 to the PowWow Festival of Writing, held in the garden (under canvas, which helped shade us from the brilliant sunshine!) of the Prince of Wales pub in Moseley, Birmingham. The event was superbly organised by Andy Killeen and his team.
We had a stall that showed off many of our wonderful titles. Peter also took part in a panel discussion of the way publishing is changing in the digital age.
The Alchemy Press is off to Birmingham on Saturday, with a stall at the Birmingham Independent Book Fair at the Ikon Gallery, Oozells Street, Brindley Place, Birmingham, B1 2HS. This is a day-long event (doors open at 11.00 am) and features independent publishers from the West Midlands and beyond. You will be able to buy all our in-print titles including Merry-Go-Round and Other Words by Bryn Fortey.
Three Alchemy Press titles are scheduled to be launched at the World Fantasy Convention, The Metropole Hotel, Brighton, over the weekend 31 October—2 November 2013. We hope that many of our contributors will be on hand to sign copies of the books:
